JAZ French Art Deco bakelite & chrome power reserve mantel clock

This fantastic & rare Art Deco power reserve mantel clock is by the French company JAZ . Made of a reddish brown bakelite it has a rectangular sculpted base with a black crenelated bakelite shallow rectangular plinth leading to the rectangular case. The front has two strips of chrome on each side of the dial, the dial itself has a chrome surround embossed with Roman numerals. inside the chrome frame is a textured bakelite face with a pair of broad openwork chrome hands shaped rather like the Empire State Building. There is a an upside down triangle in the top of the dial and a winding aperture in the bottom. The dial is embossed "JAZ". The triangle is white when the clock is fully wound and as it winds down the colour turns to red. The back of the case is embossed "JAZ Made in France in a rectangular cartouche, it is further embossed "Modele Depose Brevete S.G.D.G."in an elongated rectangular cartouche. There is an indentation shaped like a key where the key would originally have been put and a fan shaped "dial with a chrome hand to show the power reserve. There is a key which I do not think is the original as it is a different shape to the key indentation in the reverse of the case but it winds the clock perfectly. This is a wonderful thing!
